Please find below information regarding
​new student orientation, fall ​sports tryouts, and fall musical auditions.

Registration Day/ New Student Orientation
Friday, August 9, 2019. 

9:00 - 12:00 New Student Orientation 
  • Meet student ambassadors 
  • Meet other new students 
  • Receive your schedule and locker assignment
  • Set up technology 
  • Receive information about life in high school at SFS 
  • Campus and high school tour 
  • Placement tests for math or language placement (if necessary). (new GRADE 9 students)

1:00 - 3:00 
  • Grade 9 Orientation - all Grade 9 students will meet in the Multi-Purpose Room in the high school. 
  • Placement tests for math or language placement (if necessary). (new GRADE 10-12 students)

Tryout dates and information for the first week:
August
12th Mon - Open Gym/Court/Run (after school)
13th Tues - Tryouts Day 1 (First Cuts) - First Day of Cross Country (no cuts)
14th Wed - Tryouts Day 2 (Second Cuts Volleyball)
(Final Cuts Tennis)
15th Thurs - Nat'l Holiday - Open Gym/Court (Optional by Coach)
16th Fri - No School - Open Gym/Court
19th Mon - Tryouts Day 3 (Final Cuts Volleyball) - First Practice Tennis
20th Tues - First Practice Volleyball, Second Practice Tennis

Theater Program Information 
The fall musical is:  Les Mis   
Performance Dates: October 25-26.
​

There will be an audition workshop on August 9th from 3:00-5:00 in the Black Box Theatre after registration day- but this is not mandatory. It is to help students feel more comfortable with the auditions and practice their songs if they need to do so.

Auditions will be August 13-14- from 3-5 in the BLACK BOX theatre.  
Callbacks will be August 15 from 3-5 in the BLACK BOX theatre.
The audition information and material will be sent out on August 2nd to all students.

The auditions will include singing, dancing and acting.
A way to prepare would be to:
  • Listen to the Les Mis soundtrack
  • Watch the Les Mis movie which recently came out
  • Read the book Les Miserables
  • Attend a production of Les Mis if they are in an area that is performing it.

The second high school show will be:  The Heart of Robin Hood
Performance Dates: February 7-8.

We will be bringing an expert artist in residence to teach stage combat and sword fighting in preparation for the show.

The auditions for this show will be: directly after Discovery Week: Nov. 12-13. Location TBD.
